Global on Campus

By welcoming the world to MIT’s doorstep, the Institute ensures that every program, initiative, project, or collaboration—on campus, or abroad—is infused with a distinctly global perspective.

MIT’s reputation for hands-on innovation and excellence across disciplines engages a dynamic talent pool from outside of the United States, including 10 percent of the Institute’s undergraduate students, over 40 percent of graduate students, and 65 percent of post-doctoral fellows. 42 percent of MIT's faculty was born outside of the United States. Each one of these individuals adds depth, dimension, and diversity to the MIT community—and that diversity strengthens the community as a whole.
