Singapore University of Technology and Design Partnership

The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)- MIT collaboration is a multifaceted collaboration that seeks to replicate MIT’s entrepreneurial spirit, its pursuit of cutting edge technology and its novel educational pedagogy to help propel technology and design education and research in Singapore. MIT faculty are helping to develop the university’s new undergraduate curricula as well as conduct major joint research projects in the co-located International Design Centre. Faculty also assist with identifying SUTD faculty candidates and mentoring SUTD faculty during their residency at MIT. Key elements of the collaboration also include various student exchanges, training of key SUTD administrators, a joint postdoctoral fellows program, and a dual masters program. According to MIT President Susan Hockfield, “it is MIT’s most extensive collaboration with an overseas educational institution to date.” More info…

Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre

The Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre is a major new research enterprise established by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in partnership with the National Research Foundation of Singapore (NRF). The SMART Centre serves as an intellectual hub for research interactions between MIT and Singapore at the frontiers of science and technology. More Info…

Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab

The Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab, a collaboration between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the government of Singapore, was created to explore new directions for the development of games as a medium. GAMBIT sets itself apart by emphasizing the creation of video game prototypes to demonstrate our research as a complement to traditional academic publishing. More Info…
