The Renewal of Research Universities: Building Capacities for Technological Innovation

In an effort to contribute to the strengthening of higher education in Colombia, the Special Program for Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS) at MIT hosted the first Institutional Leadership Dialogue, The Renewal of Research Universities: Building Capacities for Technological Innovation, from October 31 through November 3, 2006.

The Institutional Leadership Dialogue consisted of the exchange of ideas between past and present academic, administrative and alumni leaders of MIT, the Colombian university rectors, distinguished guests, and students. MIT speakers shared their own experiences, described their journey to senior academic and administrative roles, and provided insights into running the Institute. The scope of the dialogue is reflected in the Final Report on the web site listed below.
