Biography

Amjad El-Qanni is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at An-Najah National University (NNU), Nablus, Palestine. He is the Founder and Former Director of the Academic and Professional Development Center, where he led initiatives to enhance academic capacity, professional development, and international engagement. He earned his PhD in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (Energy and Environment) from the University of Calgary, Canada (2018), an MSc in Urban Environmental Engineering from École Centrale de Nantes, France (2012), and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from NNU (2009).
 
Dr. El-Qanni has received several national and international awards, including the prestigious Werner Graupe International Fellowship in Engineering (2015–2018), awarded to only two recipients in Canada. He has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters, contributing to energy sustainability and environmental protection. His work bridges academia and industry through cross-disciplinary research, student mentorship, and service as a reviewer for leading scientific journals.

Research Interests

Dr. El-Qanni’s research focuses on the application of nanotechnology to address critical challenges in energy and environmental systems. His interests include sustainable energy solutions, environmental remediation, wastewater treatment, and solid waste management. His work aims to develop innovative, scalable technologies that support environmental preservation and resource efficiency, particularly in regions facing complex socio-environmental constraints.
