Biography:

Shireen Bader Alqadi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master of Science in Urban Planning and Design from Birzeit University. She earned her Ph.D. in Sustainable Urban Environment from the University of Lincoln, UK.
 
She is an active member of the Palestine Higher Council of Green Buildings. She contributed as an author to the Palestinian Green Building Guidelines, published in 2013. With extensive experience in evaluating buildings for sustainability, she brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to advancing green building practices and sustainable urban development in the region.

Research Interests:

Shireen’s research and professional interests lie at the intersection of sustainable built environments, climate-conscious design, and smart city development, with a particular focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation, urban decarbonization strategies, indoor environmental quality, and thermal comfort.

MIT Fellowship Research Abstract:

In her research, Shireen explores sustainable built environment practices with a focus on decarbonization strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
