Doctoral students may apply for summer support for dissertation research or writing that has an international component. Support may be requested either for fieldwork and/or archival research, or for home-based research and write-up. Grants will not exceed $3,500.
The main criteria for determining which proposals will be funded are:
1 – the importance of the research question and the quality of the research proposal
2 – the strength of the letter of support
The Guillemin Prize will be chosen from the recipients of the Summer Study Fellowship. The Jeanne Guillemin Prize is an endowed fund that provides financial support to female PhD candidates researching topics that have an international component, regardless of their home department.
The deadline for CIS Summer Study Fellowship applications is MONDAY, March 15, 2021, by 5:00pm
