The MIT Portugal Program, in collaboration with Portuguese partners, concluded its 4th annual Marine Robotics school at Faial Island, in the Azores. The program was held from July 8th, 2024 to July 19th, 2024 with the participation of 12 MIT students and 12 students from Portuguese universities who had a strong interest in marine robotics and oceanography. The participants engaged in science talks and labs led by faculty from MIT, Portuguese universities, and renowned experts in the field. Participants also had hands-on experiences in the design of drifters, as well as in the operation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
In the following video faculty, students, and partner organizations share what they enjoyed the most about the 2024 Marine Robotics School.
